  • 37 Phoenix Saves since 2008

    The Phoenix Award recognizes South Trail personnel for cardiac arrest saves that result in the patient leaving the hospital alive.  These personnel have shown exemplary medical skills that allowed the further extension of human life.

    South Trail personnel have been credited for 37 Phoenix saves since 2008.  

    On December 16, 2016, at a countyside ceremony at the Harborside Event Center, eighteen (18) South Trail firefighters were recognized for their role in the following five cardiac arrest saves.

    • April 12, 2016 - LT/Paramedic David Bollen, FF James Grace, FF Chris Lyons, BC Steve Mozes, Eng. Richard Reed
    • May 2, 2016 - FF/Paramedic Joshua Higginbotham, FF Josh Colon, LT Kerry Griffin
    • July 3, 2016 - FF/Paramedic Ron Givens, FF/Paramedic Joshua Higginbotham, FF Jesus Alvares, FF Josh Colon, FF John Ruff
    • July 17, 2016 - LT/Paramedic Mike Endersbee, ENG/Paramedic Brian Angelson, FF/Paramedic John Gasiorowski, FF/Paramedic Jacob Snyder, FF Roelof Van Niekerk
    • July 22, 2016 - FF/Paramedic Steve Silverman, FF Rudolph Dasta
