STFD congrats FF Matt Whatley, FF Bryce Dearstyne, and FF Logan Mozes for successfully passing their 6 month probationary skills test. Here is a picture of an emergency fire shelter for wildland fires. A fire shelter is a safety device of last resort used by wildland firefighters when trapped by wildfires. While such a shelter cannot withstand sustained contact with flames, it can protect a firefighter's life. A real fire shelter looks like a baked potato but they can only be deployed once, so we use training ones.
